Agreement on cooperation

A significant event took place in the Saratov Region: the rector of SSMU n.a. V.I. Razumovsky Andrey Eremin and the Director of the National Medical Research Center for Transplantology and Artificial Organs named after Academician V.I. Shumakov, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Gauthier signed an agreement on long-term cooperation in the field of donation and transplantation of human organs and (or) tissues. The parties agreed on scientific and practical cooperation in the field of donation and transplantology.  

“The signing of the agreement is a symbolic procedure”, remarked Sergei Gauthier, “because the cooperation between Saratov Medical University and National Medical Research Center for Transplantology and Artificial Organs named after Academician V.I. Shumakov has been going on for a long time. Now it will be assessed as official. Specialists will be able to exchange their experience for the further development of transplantation in Saratov”.

Innovative trends in transplantology in the Saratov Region were recognized and provided by an outstanding scientist, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, professor Petr Glybochko. Saratov Medical University n.a. V.I. Razumovsky currently provides highly technological medical assistance within the state guarantees programme in the field of “transplantation”. The development programme for donation and transplantation will benefit the increase of kidney transplant procedures in the Saratov region and will make available pancreas, liver and heart transplants.

“Cooperation with the Main Center for Transplantology in Russia enables engagement and partnership of scientists, development of biomedical technologies, translational and digital medicine. It will bring healthcare in the region to a new quality level by sharing clinical, educational and scientific knowledge and experience”, said the rector of SSMU Andrey Eremin.
