On March, 2022 educational virtual clinic will open its doors in SSMU.

The virtual clinic is a model of a medical institution including the emergency room and modern integrated operating theatre. Currently, the latest medical equipment and robotic simulators have been purchased, which make possible to simulate processes, situations and other aspects of the professional activity of health care workers at a high degree of reliability. The clinic will be provided with simulated intensive care wards, an operating theatre, rooms for specialists, minimally invasive surgical technologies and a labour ward. All the units will be equipped with an audio and video control system with the function of recording of performed manipulations. The virtual clinic will be used at all stages of training of medical specialists. Consultations and videoconferences will be held in the conference hall where telemedicine technologies will be available.

The chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin has called on to fulfill the task of preparation of Emergency Medicine (EM) doctors using highly technological resources. SSMU has already offered ambulance simulators to educate students. The university also takes advantage of a new practice-oriented learning platform to train necessary practical skills in real conditions.

“Our university tends to develop highly technological educational opportunities for the preparation of future professionals who can face the challenging time of medical science and healthcare. Creation of virtual clinic will provide well-rounded intellectual training and allow graduates of the university to obtain an access to professionalism relevant to the current demands”, said the rector of SSMU Andrey Eremin.
