Museum of University History

Part of Saratov Medical University, the Museum of University History retells the history of the University’s establishment and growth and the history of medical university training in the Volga Region through a series of thematic and chronological exhibits.

The Museum’s collections feature authentic documents, images, medical equipment and instruments, photo albums, medals, and university professors’ personal belongings.

The Museum’s mission is to encourage the study and research of the University’s history, to advance the general knowledge of culture, and to collect and conserve artefacts of cultural and historical importance. The Museum regularly hosts guided tours and public lectures about the history of the University and medicine. Dedicated to fostering popular instruction, the Museum is a welcoming center for learning, and it readily provides university scholars and students with materials from its collection. Drawing on modern tools of interpretation and presentation, the Museum aims to serve its public as a dynamic and innovative educational and research facility, as well as a repository of historical and cultural legacy, and offers a unique experience to each visitor.
