A tissue bank for transplantation is being created on the basis of the SSMU

The appearance of such a bank is an important stage in the development of ophthalmic medicine, which makes it possible to expand the possibilities for effective treatment of patients with severe visual impairments.
The Razumovsky State Medical University No. 2 (Eye Diseases Clinic) is actively developing transplantation technologies as part of a program to provide high-tech medical care to patients with eye diseases. Corneal transplantation, especially of its individual layers, is one of the most advanced areas of ophthalmology. Modern methods make it possible to minimize the risks of complications due to the development of technologies for storing donor materials and improving surgical techniques.
Currently, the clinic is working on the creation of a tissue bank for transplantation. All types of keratoplastic surgeries performed by doctors will be performed at a new level. The specialists have already received additional training, and the premises are fully equipped and officially certified.
