Expanding international contacts in medical education: a doctor from India visited SSMU

Dr. Dahikar Samadhan B. took part in the international forum “Effective therapeutic strategies in the clinic of internal diseases” and attended the opening of the conference in one of the campuses of SSMU.

The guest was greeted by representatives of SSMU: Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, A. Fedonnikov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, I.Bugaeva, Head of International Cooperation Department, O. Opredelennova, Director of the Research Center, T. Kalyuta, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Preventive Medicine and Biomedicine, T. Kulshan, and Head of Department for Public Relations and Youth Affairs, A. Zhivaykina. The topic of the meeting was to discuss issues of cooperation in the scientific and educational spheres of two countries.

It is worth while reminding that the training of Indian students has been carried out at SSMU since 1992. More than 5000 healthcare professionals in India have graduated from Saratov Medical University, but some of the best students remain in Russia.

The guest of honor was given a tour in the research and production departments, the laboratory for research and quality control of medicines and the department of microbiology.

Dr. Dahikar Samadhan B. was invited as a co-chairman of the section in the international forum “Effective therapeutic strategies in the clinic of internal medicine”.

Later, a meeting was held with employees of the International Cooperation Department and with foreign students of SSMU from India.
