Medical College
Established in 1963, the Medical College became part of Saratov State Medical University in 2010.
Now the College offers 5 programs: Nursing, Clinical Pathology, Pharmacy, Restorative Dentistry, and Medical Care. The College’s Department of Continuing Education provides advanced training programs in Nursing, Clinical Pathology, Restorative Dentistry, and Pharmacy.
The Medical College is committed to offering high-quality medical training provided by the College and SSMU faculty, a distinctive curriculum, excellent educational resources, and innovative teaching technologies. Taking part in annual all-Russia and regional professional conference, the College’s faculty continually undertakes professional development and fosters better collaboration between Saratov medical schools and colleges and those from other parts of the Volga Region.
There are more than 1 000 students studying every year at the College. Future healthcare professionals receive extensive medical training in modern teaching facilities. Students receive clinical involvement to anchor knowledge in real practice. They receive hospital placements in local clinical settings, where they put their theoretical knowledge to practice and develop necessary practical medical skills by directly assisting patients under the supervision of a medical mentor.
The Medical College is committed to creating conditions for students’ personal and professional growth. It also encourages students to pursue medical research opportunities. The College hosts annual student conferences, and research tutors provide help for students taking part in academic conferences.
For the past three years, the Medical College has been hosting All-Russia Science Week, as well as academic competitions for students of Saratov medical colleges.
Over the past 50 years, more than 12 000 people graduated from the Medical College. The Medical College prides itself on the ability to prepare highly qualified healthcare professionals. Its outstanding education prepares students to become skilled medical professionals who are equipped to meet the challenges of a rapidly-changing and competitive healthcare setting.
